G.M. Sewing Company is located at Karma Bird House: 47 Maple Street, in Suite 224. Look for the brick building with Kestrel Coffee in the main lobby. Please enter through the building's front door, and take a left over to the elevator. Once you exit the elevator on the second floor, take a left down the hallway (past the restrooms) and you will find Suite 224.
Parking: There is street parking down Maple Street, and also on Battery Street.
Please bring whatever shoes you are planning on wearing at your wedding and any undergarments you think you will wear with your dress. Slips and linings can be added into dresses if you aren't sure what you should wear - we can go over options at your first fitting.

I will send you a link to my google calendar so you can book an appointment that works best for your schedule.
Yes! Even if you don't know the exact date your dress will arrive at the bridal shop, it is important to get your bridal appointment on the calendar. We do tend to have to block off months when they get too full, so it is best to get your name down before it is too late! That being said, appointments can be shifted once they are made, so if you need to reschedule because your dress has not arrived yet (or surprise it came early!) please feel free to reach back out and we will do what we can do accommodate.
Short answer: about six weeks. That being said, it can be around 2+ months. Most alterations include around 3 fittings: the first initial fitting, a second follow up to make sure everything is headed in the right direction, and the third which in most cases is your pick up. Due to scheduling conflicts, this process can be elongated, so make sure to book far enough in advance to account for some extra time just in case.
Absolutely! I have a deep love for working on vintage gowns, and I would be honored to bring whatever vision you have come to life. Since this is a very custom project, please shoot any ideas my way and we can get the process started.
If you are planning on having any vintage gowns worked on, please have them dry cleaned before they are brought to the studio!
Yes, please feel free to bring a friend or parent! We do ask that you only bring a max of two guests with you to your fitting.
